April Hernandez has been working with the Segers for over 16 years, bringing a deep passion for bariatric patient care to her role as Practice Administrator at Seger MD. She is dedicated to providing a seamless experience for every patient, emphasizing mental, emotional, and social well-being for lifelong success.
April’s commitment to bariatric care is personal—having undergone weight loss surgery with Dr. Mickey Seger in 2009, she knows firsthand the life-changing impact it can have. She continues her journey with ongoing medical weight management under Dr. Jenny and is devoted to helping others achieve the same transformative results.
Originally from a small town near Tyler, Texas, April loves traveling, bowling, painting, and playing pool in her free time. She is also a proud mother of four and has been happily married to her best friend, Alonso, since 2011.
Braylon Money joined Seger | MD’s team as a Medical Assistant in 2024. Braylon was born in San Antonio, but with a mom in the military, he’s lived in many places across the continental US.
Braylon chose to return to San Antonio and loves the diverse cultures of the city. Braylon attended Judson High School in Converse and is currently working towards his undergraduate degree at Northeast Lakeview in Biology and Pre-Nursing. Braylon works closely with patients at Seger | MD. He is often the first to greet patients as they arrive for their appointments and is responsible for drawing blood, taking vitals, and scheduling appointments.
Braylon feels at home as a member of Seger | MD’s team and even though he is new to the practice, he’s been greeted with warmth and support since the start. Braylon has been interested in pursuing a career in healthcare since graduating high school and joining Seger | MD’s practice has been a significant milestone in his professional journey.
Braylon’s kind and confident personality make him an invaluable addition to the team and an integral part of patients’ wellness and weight management journeys.
Roberta Balderrama serves as the Front Office Coordinator at Seger MD, where she welcomes every patient with empathy, understanding, and a warm smile. Though she officially joined the team in April, she previously worked alongside the Seger’s for over two years, bringing valuable experience and heartfelt dedication to her role.
Roberta finds purpose in supporting others on their journey. She knows firsthand the challenges and victories that come with weight loss surgery and uses that insight to reassure patients that they are never alone. Her compassionate approach helps build trust from the very first interaction.
Born and raised in San Antonio, Roberta enjoys the comfort of hometown roots while feeding her curiosity through travel and true crime documentaries. In her spare time, you’ll find her working on word search puzzles, spending weekends with her significant other, or hanging out with her niece and nephew who are her favorite little humans. Her authenticity shines through, making a lasting impact on the patients she serves.
Darian Alvarez joined Seger MD in April 2024 as an Insurance Advocate, where she helps patients navigate the often complex world of insurance with patience, precision, and a problem-solving mindset. Her love for critical thinking and continuous learning makes her a natural fit for the role—and a reliable resource for every patient.
A San Antonio native who graduated high school in Devine, Darian is currently earning her bachelor’s degree in Multidisciplinary Studies at UTSA. Balancing work and school, she brings a thoughtful, detail-oriented approach to everything she does.
Outside the office, Darian enjoys reading, working out, and spending quality time with her large family—including five sisters and one brother. Whether she’s immersed in a book or catching up with loved ones, she values connection, growth, and keeping life in balance.
